We primarily use Zoom!, an in-office whitening treatment, but we also have Opalescence, a take-home whitening toothpaste.

The Teeth Whitening Process
To prepare for a teeth whitening treatment, make a regular examination appointment with our office. During your exam, you can discuss teeth whitening with your dentist. They can help you determine whether professional teeth whitening would be an ideal choice for you. From there, you can decide whether to receive Zoom!, an in-office treatment, or Opalescence, a take-home treatment.
For Zoom!
For Zoom!, our office will schedule about a 90 minute appointment for your teeth bleaching. At your visit, our staff will bring you back and make you comfortable. After addressing your questions and concerns, our team will apply a whitening gel to your teeth and insert a mouth opening guard. We will then place a concentrated light on your smile so the whitening gel can begin to work. This process will take place a few times throughout your scheduled appointment until you have a brilliant new smile.
For Opalescence
For Opalescence, your 30A Smiles dentist will supervise your treatment from initial consultation through completion. Opalescence Take Home Whitening Gels are delivered through customized bleaching trays designed to fit your unique smile. After taking an impression of your mouth, our staff will create your personal trays. Once your trays and supplies are ready, our terrific team will counsel you on how to use the Opalescence teeth whitening and answer any questions you have. They will then send you on your way to a brighter smile.
Professional Teeth Whitening vs. Over-The-Counter Products
Professional teeth whitening is only available through your dentist or a certified provider, while over-the-counter whitening products are available to purchase at most drug stores in the toothpaste section.
Professional whitening treatments are safer and more effective. The use carbamide peroxide over hydrogen peroxide (which is in over-the-counter products) because of its power to improve results and reach intrinsic strains in your teeth. Professional level teeth bleaching also provides more immediate results, whereas over-the-counter products take several treatments to see a change. While over-the-counter products may initially seem more cost-effective, the costs can add-up due to the need for multiple treatments to see improvements or maintain results.
